Michael Dewayne Hollis, affectionately known as “Big Mike”, was born on May 23, 1975 in Glenwood, Georgia to the late John Earl Hollis and Lillie Mae McClain. Big Mike entered eternal rest in Uvalda, Georgia on Wednesday, September 16, 2026.
He was educated in the Montgomery County School System and graduated from Mt. Vernon High School. He was later united in Holy Matrimony to Sarah Miriam White on June 9, 2018.
Big Mike was a gainfully employed hard-working man. Employed at Delta Freight System as an Over the Road Truck Driver, he spent approximately 20 years in this field of work traveling the highways and providing for those he loved. He continued driving until health challenges made it necessary for him to step away from a career to which he had devoted so many years.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Millie Bae Allen and Johnny Lee McClain, who raised and loved him as their own child; and his sister, McKissa Hollis.
Those left to cherish precious memories of Big Mike are his wife, Sarah Miriam Hollis of Baxley, Georgia; two children, Malik Hollis of Uvalda, Georgia and Shequoya Rolax of Baxley, Georgia; his mother, Lillie Mae Nobles of Uvalda, Georgia; a brother, Donate Nobles of Uvalda, Georgia; three sisters, Keisha Hembry Thomas of Oak Bridge, Tennessee, Kissy Hollis (Terry) of Tupelo, Mississippi and Louke Lanier of Mt. Vernon, Geogia; and a host of aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, and cousins.
Though his earthly journey has ended, the love, laughter, lessons, and memories Michael shared will remain with his family forever.
