Lonnie Wright

Lonnie Wright was born on January 21, 1948, in Appling County, Georgia to parentage of Earnest and Willie Wright. He was raised in Appling County and graduated from Appling County Consolidated High School. He joined the US Army in 1968 and served in Vietnam.

He was united in Holy Matrimony to his wife, Catherine in 1973. Lonnie departed his earthly life on Monday, January 12, 2026, peacefully surrounded by family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, a sister and a brother.

His memories will forever be cherished by his loving wife of 52 years, Catherine; daughter, Mikiti Wright; step-daughter, Katrina Walker; grandchildren, Brittinei Walker, Jene’ Walker, Jaden Tippins, Zerria Tippins, Tiziah Thompkins, Terri Thompkins, Christopher Tippins and Tailyn Thompkins; great-grandchildren, Khamaiya Walker, Jakiya Walker, Londyn Mikel, Kamil Walker, Bostyn Walker, Kamari Vann, Kadence Walker and Lonnie Skipper; great grandchild, Kae’lynn Walker; sisters, Earnestine Jenkins, Margaret (James Lamar) Wilcox, Willie Mae (James Lerico) Wilcox; sisters-in-law, Mary Brown, LaVangaleen Graves; brothers in law, Dan (Marlynn) Perkins and Milton Bell.

His memories will also be cherished by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and sorrowing friends.
