Jane Mae Henderson peacefully left us early Wednesday morning, June 4, 2025, at the age of 80 after a prolonged battle with illness. She was surrounded by her loving family during her final moments.
Jane was preceded in death by her beloved sister, Glory Nell Rathford, and her two daughters, Flossie Mae Parrish and Eunice Henderson Johnson. Born in 1945 in Tattnall County, Georgia, Jane was the daughter of the late Flossie Mae Hargroves. She attended public school in Tattnall County before pursuing a rewarding career in housekeeping at Saint Mary’s Hospital in Troy, New York. After retiring, Jane devoted her time to doing what she loved: fishing and attending services at Union Chapel Baptist Church in Mershon, Georgia.
She leaves to cherish her memory grandchildren: Jermaine Robert Henderson (Ona) of Mershon, GA, Leon James Parrish of Jacksonville, FL, Monique Antonette Parrish of Jacksonville, FL, and Jessica Henderson of Waycross, GA; great-grandchildren: Ocean Calontay Henderson, Kaiden Dunson, Deyleon Jermayne Henderson, DeAsia Aladdin Henderson, Jeremiah Jermaine Henderson, Jermaine Robert Henderson, Jr., Asunnyah Justice Henderson, Si’Diamond Henderson, Domonique Henderson, Layla Parrish, Rosa Parrish, A’leyah Parrish, and Perfect Unice Henderson; her favorite niece: Theresa Shields and a host of godchildren, additional relatives, friends, and children she lovingly helped raise throughout her life.
