Mr. Worthy Willie (Cootie) Moore, son of the late Willie and Alberta Bestic Moore was born November 15, 1936.  He was educated at the Baxley Training School in Baxley, GA.  At an early age he professed his faith in Jesus Christ and joined the Church of God of Prophecy in Hazlehurst, GA where he worked faithfully until moving to Douglas, GA.  He later became an honorary member of Temple of the Higher Calling until death.  He was ordained to preach the Gospel in 1969.  Cootie Mo as he is most affectionately known was a self taught businessman.  He owned Moore's Cleaning Service until his health begin to fail.  

He was united in Holy Matrimony to Arlee Reynolds on January 22, 1955.  This union was blessed with six wonderful children.  They also adopted a son, Roy Moore, who preceded him in death.  As a result of his friendly spirit and generous personality, he was loved by many and will be missed by most.  He quietly departed this life on Monday, November 6, 2017 at Appling Healthcare Systems in Baxley, GA  He was preceded in death by his sisters, Charlie Mae Ryals and Lillian Hall;  brothers, James Moore and John (Bill) Everett Taylor.

His wonderful life will forever be cherished in the lives of his children; Ronnie Moore of Winter Haven, FL, Gerry (Elaine) Moore and Kim (Shannon) Moore, April Moore of Baxley, GA, Lucy White of Richland, SC, Terry (Michelle) Moore of Guyton, GA, and Worthy Moore, Jr. of Douglas, GA.  He also leaves to mourn twenty-one grandchildren and twenty-five great grandchildren; his sisters, Cynthia (Ivan) White of Baxley, GA and Dianne Moore of Alma, GA; brother, Jackie Moore of Alma, GA; one Aunt Mary Austin of Uvalda, GA; two special friends, Robert Williams and Annie Williams of Baxley, GA; and a host of devoted nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
